Sine Wave Inverters-c/w Transfer Switch
"ST" Series true sine
wave inverters are microprocessor controlled inverters with
a built-in transfer switch. These Cotek inverters are capable of driving
highly reactive & capacitive loads at start-up. Synchronized
operation allows the transfer to be almost instantaneous

| Utility grid power
supplies pure sine wave alternating current (AC), the most
common form of energy for the majority of electronic appliances.
This same energy is often needed in remote or mobile environments
where pure sine wave grid power is not readily available.
In this event, users will turn to dc-ac power inverters using
modified sine wave or pure sine wave technology. While modified
sine wave inverters are good for many applications, pure sine
wave inverters are needed because modified sine wave inverters
can have too much harmonic distortion otherwise referred to
as noise. Pure Sine Wave Inverters also known as true sine
wave inverters are used because they replicate the utility
grid power allowing the most sensitive electronics to function
seamlessly.
Samlex America provides a wide variety
of modified sine wave inverters however the majority of Samlex
America’s dc-ac inverters are available with pure sine
wave technology. Samlex America’s pure sine wave inverters
are available in four categories.
True Sine Wave Inverters will:
- Allow inductive loads like microwave
oven and motor driven products to run faster, quieter and
cooler.
- Reduce or eliminate audible and
electrical noise in fans, florescent lights, audio amplifiers
etc.
- Allows accessories that are sensitive
to higher harmonic distortion levels found in modified sine
wave inverters to function seamlessly with pure sine wave
inverters

Common
Terms and Their Equivilents:
Pure
Sine Wave = True Sine Wave
Modified
Sine Wave = Quasi Sine Wave = Square Wave
Continuous
Power Rating = Power supplied continuously once load is applied
(NOTE - Samlex Inverters list the continuous wattage when describing
inverter power.
ie 1500 Watt inverters are 1500 Watts continuous power)
Surge
Power Rating = Usually only lasts a few seconds for initial start-up
of load
DC-AC Power Conversion = Inverter
DC-DC Power Conversion = Converter
AC-DC
Power Conversion = Power Supply
